Located alongside Merri Creek in Coburg North, this renovation transformed a tired 1990s brick veneer unit into a light-filled home centred around connection, warmth, and daily living. Working closely with Circle Studio Architects and our clients, the project reimagined the existing footprint to better capture the surrounding bushland views and create spaces that felt generous, calm, and full of personality.
By removing walls and reworking the internal layout, the home now opens directly to the landscape through large timber sliding doors and new windows that flood the interiors with natural light. Existing roof trusses were exposed and painted to create height and volume through the main living space, while playful colours, natural materials, tiles, and bespoke joinery bring warmth and character throughout.
Rather than extending the home, the focus was on thoughtful refinement — creating a beautifully resolved space that supports cooking, entertaining, reading, gardening, and simply spending time together.
Delivered by an all-female lead team alongside Circle Studio Architects, this was a deeply collaborative project full of creativity, care, and joy.
The colours are pretty on brand for us too!
